ISP Technician - Remote
This remote position is a stepping stone to an IT Help Desk Analyst role, building foundational skills for a career in call centers or IT. You will provide technical support for an Internet Service Provider in a fast-paced, 24x7x365 environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide external customer support via phone, email, and web chat.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to cable, modems, routers, internet, voice, data, and video connectivity.
- Manage a volume of 50-75 tickets per 8-hour shift.
- Support 50+ client accounts, navigating unique computer systems for each.
- Document all interactions within multiple ticketing systems.
- Assist other Technical Support Representatives as needed.
Technical Skills & Qualifications:
- Experience with Cable, Modems, Routers, and Internet services.
- Proficiency in Phone, Email & Web Chat Support.
- Knowledge of Networking & Telecommunications.
- Strong Troubleshooting abilities.
- Experience with Ticketing Systems.
- Google IT Professional Certification or pursuing CompTIA Certifications is a plus.
Important Requirements:
- Must reside within 90 miles of Raleigh, NC, Cedar Rapids, IA, or Huntsville, AL.
- Must maintain your own reliable internet connection with a backup plan.
- Home office must be hardwired; Wi-Fi or hotspots are not accepted.
- Must have reliable childcare and minimal distractions.
Attendance & Performance:
- Strict attendance policy: No more than 1 absence per month during the initial months.
- Daily attendance is monitored.
- Performance is evaluated based on AHT, Schedule Adherence, QA Scores, Attendance, and Ticket Errors.
- Call hopping and call avoidance are heavily monitored.
Schedule & Training:
- Orientation: Week of May 11, 2026
- Equipment Pick-up: Week of May 11, 2026
- Start Date: May 18, 2026
- Candidates will choose one of three 2nd shift schedules (40-hour workweek, 8-hour shifts with 1-hour lunch):
- Early: 10 am - 7 pm
- Middle: 12 pm - 9 pm
- Late: 3 pm - 12 am
- Selected schedules are permanent.
- Two days off per week, not necessarily consecutive.
- Will work one Saturday or Sunday per week.
Compensation & Benefits:
- Pay Rate: $15.00 - $15.50/hr (Contract to Hire)
- Salary increase after 4 months.
