Job description

Responsibilities

  • Data Cleanse Network Element Equipment: Reconcile Inventory Records with Equipment Logical circuits for Transport and IP equipment.
    • Remove 'stranded' cross-connects from equipment.
    • Update Inventory circuit designs and disconnect 0% utilized circuits.
  • Capacity Augmentation: Identify additional capacity needs and manage ring configurations.
  • Migration Planning: Develop plans based on Turn Over Packages (TOP) developed by the Mid-Range Planner (MRP).
    • Resolve any TOP gaps with the MRP.
    • Utilize extensive knowledge of a wide variety of network equipment and network layers.
  • Circuit Planning: Develop Migration Circuit Plans for Transport and IP circuits.
    • Include existing A to Z circuit paths.
    • Identify points to 'turn' each circuit in the existing network path.
    • Identify new equipment paths from the 'turn' point to equipment at the core site.
  • Documentation: Prepare design updates and circuit groom cutsheets.
  • Issue Resolution: Resolve any JEOPS that arise during the planning process.

Skills & Qualifications

  • Core Skills: Traffic Migration, Transport, DACs, Telco, Network Design, Cutover, MOP, Capacity Planning, Network Planning, SONET.
  • Experience: Expert level required.
  • Additional Requirements: Strong computer skills and the ability to utilize homegrown customer systems.
