Overview

We are seeking a Sr Network Engineer to support a highly stable, enterprise-level network environment in Colorado Springs. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys network operations, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement, rather than heavy redesign or architecture work.

This is a 6-month contract-to-hire opportunity with strong potential for full-time conversion.

Key Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot network connectivity, performance, and infrastructure issues
  • Manage and support Cisco routing and switching across WAN/LAN environments
  • Configure and maintain VLANs, subnets, and network segmentation
  • Administer and update firewall policies (Fortigate environment)
  • Perform network adds, moves, and changes
  • Support monitoring tools and contribute to ongoing improvements
  • Collaborate with internal IT teams to ensure system stability and performance

Required Qualifications

  • Strong experience with Cisco networking (routing & switching)
  • Hands-on troubleshooting experience in an enterprise environment
  • Ability to work independently and quickly adapt to existing infrastructure
  • Solid understanding of network fundamentals (VLANs, subnetting, WAN/LAN)
  • Experience managing and maintaining network infrastructure

Preferred / Bonus Skills

  • Firewall experience (Fortigate preferred)
  • Experience with F5, wireless networks, and data center environments
  • Automation mindset (e.g., Ansible or similar tools)
  • Relevant certifications (CCNA or higher preferred)

Additional Details

  • Location: Colorado Springs, CO (On-site with Hybrid Flexibility)
  • Pay: $35.27 - $43.27/hr | Conversion Salary: $100,000 - $104,000
  • Environment: Stable, low-pressure, and collaborative with high autonomy
