The Opportunity
Tenor Legal is seeking a Compliance & Investigations Attorney for a Consultant (contract) secondment supporting the in-house legal and compliance organization of a leading global technology company. This is a full-time, fully remote engagement centered on high-stakes internal compliance and anticorruption investigations.
The Client
Our client is a leading global technology company with a sophisticated in-house legal and compliance function. The attorney will work within the company's compliance and ethics team, partnering cross-functionally with internal stakeholders on sensitive investigative matters and reporting to in-house counsel.
Key Details
- Engagement Type: Consultant (contract)
- Duration: 3 months, with potential extension up to 18 months
- Compensation: $200,000 to $250,000 annualized
- Benefits: Full W-2 employment through Tenor Legal, including health insurance, 401(k), PTO, paid holidays, paid bar dues, and more.
- Hours: Full-time (40 hours/week)
- Location: Remote — must be based in the U.S. and able to work U.S. business hours
- Start Date: July 1, 2026
Responsibilities
- Conducting and supporting internal compliance misconduct investigations, including developing investigation plans (40%)
- Conducting investigation interviews of company personnel (20%)
- Managing and conducting document and email review (20%)
- Drafting reports of investigation and sharing outcomes with corporate stakeholders (20%)
Qualifications
- Active U.S. bar license
- At least five years practicing law
- JD from a top-50 U.S. law school (or equivalent non-U.S. legal studies program)
- At least five years of experience at an AmLaw 200 law firm
- At least five years of internal investigations experience focused on policy compliance and government investigations
- Five years of combined experience performing and/or leading internal investigations focused on the U.S. Foreign Corrupt Practices Act (FCPA) and other anticorruption/antibribery statutes at an AmLaw 200 firm and/or Fortune 50 publicly traded company
- Experience conducting internal investigations for an in-house client from drafting the investigation plan through drafting the report of investigation
- Experience conducting investigation interviews and email/document review, and sharing investigation outcomes with corporate stakeholders
Preferred Experience
- Prior secondment or in-house contract experience within a large corporate legal department
- Demonstrated ability to work cross-functionally with compliance, HR, and business teams
- A self-starter who operates independently with minimal oversight
