Position Summary

Support the HSSEQ team in promoting a safe, compliant, and high-performing work environment across the organization. This role provides hands-on experience in health and safety programs, environmental stewardship, quality management systems, and regulatory compliance activities.

The intern will assist with data collection and analysis, documentation management, audits and inspections, training coordination, incident tracking, and continuous improvement initiatives. By helping maintain effective HSSEQ processes and supporting employee engagement in safety and quality programs, the intern contributes to reducing risk, enhancing operational excellence, ensuring compliance with applicable regulations and standards, and advancing the organization's commitment to protecting people, the environment, and the quality of its services and projects.

Essential Job Functions

The following duties are considered essential to the role. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform these essential functions:

  • Assist in the performance of HSSEQ functions within assigned area of responsibility/knowledge in accordance with specified HHSEQ criteria and requirements.
  • Assist in the preparation of required work documents, directives and supportive records/documentation.
  • Perform verification of items, activities and processes to assure conformance to established requirements.
  • Participate in training programs to enhance existing skills and to acquire new job skills.
  • Perform various other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma and currently in college pursuing an Associates or Bachelors degree.
  • Experience using Microsoft Suite knowledge required.
  • Less than one year of experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • People skills.
  • Familiar with HSSEQ Standards and regulations.

Physical Requirements

  • Prolonged periods of time sitting or standing at a desk and using a computer.

Work Environment / Environmental Factors

  • Sitting or standing in office space environment.

Additional Information

  • This position is temporary with a work schedule of up to 32 hours a week.
  • Position is 100% remote.

Compensation

Pay commensurate with experience.

Pay Range: $15 - $22/hour

A pre-employment drug screen in compliance with federal regulations is required, along with a physical if needed.
