Job Summary

The Property & Casualty Insurance team seeks skilled Guidewire Business Analysts for client engagements. This role is based at a client site in Greenville, SC, with a hybrid work model acceptable.

Responsibilities

As a Senior BA, you will:

  • Report to the Program Director for business analysis functions.
  • Work in a fast-paced, cross-functional agile (Scrum/SAFe) environment.
  • Lead requirements for Guidewire Policy Center and Integration functions.
  • Collaborate with client SMEs to elicit business and technical requirements.
  • Conduct and facilitate workshops and JAD sessions with internal and client stakeholders.
  • Gather requirements for External Rating modules and third-party integrations (e.g., Lexis Nexis).
  • Document requirements specifications for data analysis, data mappings for Guidewire, and third-party integrations.
  • Develop functional specifications using User Stories, process flows, use cases, and data mappings in tools like JIRA, Confluence, and Rally.
  • Conduct user story/sprint demonstrations at the end of each sprint/release.
  • Participate in agile sprint ceremonies, including daily stand-ups, sprint planning, reviews, and retrospectives.
  • Conduct end-user training through workshops, guides, and manuals.
  • Work with globally distributed teams.
  • Support requirements clarifications with internal development and testing teams.
  • Collaborate with Requirements Managers, Scrum Masters, and Program Managers.

Required Qualifications

Mandatory Skills

  • 10-12 years of experience delivering technology solutions in the Insurance Industry.
  • 5-7 years of experience with Guidewire Policy Center, Rating, and Integrations.
  • Hands-on experience with Guidewire tools like Advance Product Designer, Data Dictionary, and Underwriting Rules Framework.
  • Experience in data analysis and data mappings for Guidewire and third-party integrations.
  • Excellent communication (written and oral) and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong requirement gathering and business process understanding.
  • Ability to translate business needs into functional requirements and user stories.
  • Experience working closely with business stakeholders, product owners, developers, QA, and architects.
  • Support for backlog refinement, acceptance criteria definition, and delivery readiness.
  • Practical understanding of Policy Center configuration and its business process impacts.
  • Ability to bridge the gap between business expectations and technology execution.
  • Domain insight, particularly in commercial trucking workflows, policy structures, and underwriting.

Nice to Have

  • Guidewire Policy Center functional certifications.
  • Agile Certifications (Scrum/SAFe).
  • Insure Tech enthusiasm.

Technical Skills

  • Guidewire application knowledge (Policy Center, Integrations).
  • Experience with management tools like Confluence, Jira, Rally, HP ALM.
  • Expertise in Microsoft Office suite and Visio.
  • Ability to query SQL databases and analyze results.
  • Experience with XML and JSON structures.
  • Excellent domain knowledge in Property & Casualty Insurance.
  • Detailed knowledge of Guidewire applications, specifically Policy Center and Rating.
  • Experience documenting specifications for Rating (Rate book, rate table, rate routines).
  • Expertise in creating functional specifications (User Stories, process flows, use cases, data mappings).
  • Experience gathering, defining, and organizing business and functional requirements, including acceptance criteria.
  • Ability to lead and facilitate requirements gathering sessions.
  • Eliciting requirements and scope through client interviews, document review, legacy analysis, and surveys.
  • Collaborative work with business product owners, actuaries, architects, developers, and testers.
  • Identifying, capturing, resolving, or escalating risks, issues, assumptions, and dependencies.
  • Strong business judgment, leadership, and integrity.
  • Ability to work in a global delivery model and act as a liaison between clients and development teams.
  • Experience in fast-paced Agile (Scrum/SAFe) environments with multiple stakeholders.
  • Exposure to Insurance Policy Data Conversion.
  • Experience implementing Guidewire Policy Center for Personal Lines of Business for a US carrier is a plus.
