Mainframe Developer

Job Details

Duration: 6+ months

Location: 100% REMOTE

Compensation: $55-60/h

Requirements

• 7+ years mainframe development (COBOL, DB2, VSAM, CICS, JCL)
• Experience with IBM MQ (messaging/integration)
• Strong understanding of mainframe architecture (batch + online processing)
• Experience with data migration and legacy system modernization
• Ability to read, analyze, and enhance legacy codebases
• Experience integrating mainframe systems with modern platforms (Oracle preferred)
• Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills

Key Responsibilities

• Support migration from PeopleSoft to Oracle with focus on mainframe integration
• Analyze and modify existing COBOL programs and legacy systems
• Build and support integrations between mainframe and Oracle systems
• Work across batch and online processing environments
• Support data migration, validation, and reconciliation efforts
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure successful system transition

Nice to Have

• Experience with Oracle Database
• Experience with large-scale enterprise modernization initiatives
