- Schedule: 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM Pacific Time (PT)
- Education Requirement: Bachelor's degree minimum
- Equipment: Bring Your Own Device (BYOD) via secure Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI)
Role Overview
We are seeking detail-oriented professionals to join an environmental compliance team. This role is fully remote and focused on desktop-based project review, permitting strategy, and regulatory compliance. Success requires strong communication skills, practical field knowledge, and the ability to navigate environmental "gray areas" with confidence.
Core Responsibilities
Permitting & Regulations
- Lead permitting strategy and assess project impacts.
- Review and quality-assure deliverables for compliance.
- Apply knowledge of state and federal environmental regulations, including:
- Fish and Wildlife permitting requirements
- Clean Water Act Section 401 (water quality certifications)
- Section 404 (Army Corps of Engineers, wetlands/waterways)
Communication & Alignment
- Collaborate closely with team members via Microsoft Teams.
- Navigate subjective regulatory interpretations with clarity and alignment.
Mapping & Site Review
- Use ArcGIS Online, Google Earth, and Bing Maps for desktop mapping.
- Perform basic navigation of mapping layers to review sites.
Preferred Background
- Familiarity with wetlands, waterways, and natural resources in California or similar regions.
- Prior field delineation or biological survey experience (wetland delineations, site surveys).
- Practical permitting and field knowledge are valued over purely academic research.
Skills & Tools
- Basic GIS navigation (no advanced database or technical GIS work required).
- Strong regulatory knowledge and ability to interpret environmental laws.
- Clear, professional communication skills for team collaboration.
