Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated Part-Time Bookkeeper to join The Urban Farm team, a small nonprofit located in Denver. This is a PT role, remote, averaging 5-8 hours a month. Additional hours in December and January with YE wrap up and audit prep. NONPROFIT EXPERIENCE A MUST.

Duties

  • Record and process journal entries using accounting software such as QuickBooks to ensure accurate financial data.
  • Perform account reconciliations, including bank statements, general ledger accounts, and balance sheet accounts, adhering to GAAP standards.
  • Import sales transactions from multiple sales platforms.
  • Conduct bank reconciliations regularly to verify account accuracy and resolve discrepancies promptly.
  • Proactively identify errors.
  • Support general ledger accounting activities, including posting journal entries and maintaining the integrity of the financial records.

Skills

  • Proficiency in accounting software such as QuickBooks Online, prefer QBO Pro.
  • Strong understanding of GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) and technical accounting concepts.
  • Experience with double-entry bookkeeping, account reconciliation, and general ledger management.
  • Knowledge of non-profit accounting practices is a plus.
  • Ability to perform bank reconciliations, account analysis, and balance sheet reconciliation efficiently.
  • Ability to interpret financial data accurately and prepare comprehensive financial reports.
  • Strong communication skills for collaborating with Executive Director and ability to adhere to deadlines.
  • Problem solver.

Pay: $35.00 - $50.00 per hour
