We are currently looking for experienced Senior Web Developers based in the United States or Canada to join a long-term remote engagement through Toptal.

About the Role

Toptal's client is seeking a strong web engineering expert to help build high-performance internal tools using modern frontend technologies including React, TypeScript, and CSS-in-JS.

You'll work on scalable and intuitive web applications that improve internal operations and developer efficiency, collaborating closely with engineering, product, and design teams. The work includes contributing to foundational web frameworks, shared tooling initiatives, and large-scale production systems.

Responsibilities

  • Build high-quality, performant web applications using React, TypeScript, and CSS-in-JS
  • Develop and improve customer-facing features within large-scale production systems
  • Collaborate alongside senior engineers within established architectures
  • Ship production code impacting millions of users
  • Improve platform reliability, scalability, and performance
  • Work closely with product managers, designers, and engineering stakeholders
  • Contribute to engineering best practices, testing standards, and continuous improvement initiatives

Required Skills & Experience

  • Strong experience with modern frontend frameworks and web standards
  • Advanced proficiency in JavaScript (browser and Node.js environments)
  • Hands-on experience with:
    • React
    • TypeScript
    • CSS-in-JS solutions
  • Experience leading large technical initiatives or complex frontend projects
  • Strong understanding of code quality, testing practices, and scalable frontend architecture
  • Ability to work effectively in collaborative, fast-paced product teams

Nice to Have

  • Experience with developer tooling or internal platform development
  • Familiarity with fintech products, operational workflows, or financial platforms
