Family Attorney - Contract, Remote (Washington)

Truce Law is seeking a skilled Washington family law attorney for a meaningful, high-impact contract opportunity. We prioritize collaboration, client well-being, and flexibility, offering a healthier way to practice law. This is a fully remote, part-time role (10-20 hours/week) within Washington state.

Compensation & Flexibility

  • Contract Rate: $150 per billed hour.
  • Target Hours: 10-20 hours per week.
  • Location: Fully Remote (within Washington state).
  • Support: Access to firm-provided systems and support staff (paralegals, legal assistants, billing team).
  • Collaboration: Join a supportive team of experienced attorneys focused on collaborative strategy and conflict reduction.

Note: As this is a contract position, firm benefits (health insurance, PTO, 401(k)) are not provided.

Responsibilities: Champion Collaboration

Your role involves applying expertise to guide clients through thoughtful, conflict-reducing solutions with support from our team, within your contracted hours.

  • Lead with Negotiation: Develop strategies to meet client goals, prioritizing negotiation and settlement for stable futures.
  • Conflict-Reduction: Actively pursue collaborative solutions, minimizing adversarial court proceedings.
  • Advocate Responsibly: Represent clients in court when necessary, upholding the firm's commitment to respect and long-term resolution.
  • High-Quality Output: Efficiently review and finalize all legal documentation (pleadings, motions, agreements, judgments, orders).
  • Mentorship & Support: Collaborate closely with other firm attorneys and the assigned support team (paralegal, legal assistant) on case strategy and execution.

Qualifications: The Collaborative Advocate

We are looking for a contract professional committed to excellence and empathy, capable of managing time and workload effectively in a flexible structure.

  • Experience & Licensure: Current Washington State Bar license with 5 years of family law experience.

  • Communication Mastery: Strong communication, organizational, and client-centered skills.
  • Independence & Reliability: Proven ability to manage a part-time workload, meet deadlines, and work independently remotely while maintaining consistent communication.

Compensation: $150 hourly
