Role Overview

TrueAccord is a mission-driven financial software company dedicated to creating better customer experiences for distressed borrowers. We are seeking a highly experienced and strategic Senior Manager, DevOps to lead our infrastructure and platform engineering efforts. This role focuses on cloud architecture strategy, ensuring the scalability and reliability of our machine learning-driven products. This is a remote position open to candidates within the USA.

Responsibilities

Strategic Leadership

Define and execute the long-term strategic vision for Infrastructure as Code (IaC), CI/CD evolution, and cloud-native architecture.
Lead the design and implementation of self-service internal platforms to reduce developer cognitive load.
Act as the primary stakeholder for AWS cloud spend, driving cost-optimization and managing vendor negotiations.
Ensure infrastructure supports strict High Availability (HA) and Disaster Recovery (DR) protocols.
Oversee monitoring, logging, and distributed tracing systems, leveraging AIOps for predictive maintenance.
Champion security by design by integrating automated vulnerability scanning and compliance checks into pipelines.
Serve as the ultimate escalation point for major production outages, facilitating blameless post-mortem reviews.

Technical Execution

Maintain deep technical currency in Kubernetes, serverless patterns, and modern automation.
Write and review high-quality code in Python, Go, or Bash to automate complex operational tasks.
Hands-on development of Terraform for resource provisioning.
Architect and troubleshoot complex CI/CD workflows (GitHub Actions, ArgoCD, Atlantis).
Manage and tune container orchestration environments, including Ingress controllers and GitOps workflows.
Lead technical analysis during critical incidents (EKS, VPC CNI, RDS performance).
Conduct audits of cloud configurations and IAM policies, implementing 'least privilege' access.

Team Management

Recruit, hire, and develop a world-class team of DevOps Engineers.
Partner with Engineering Managers to align infrastructure deliverables with the product roadmap.
Collaborate with Quality Engineering and Security to define 'Definition of Done' standards.
Set clear, measurable goals (KPIs and OKRs) and provide regular performance feedback.
Lead internal Brunch & Learns to educate the broader organization on cloud-native patterns.

Skills

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent experience.
10+ years in DevOps, SRE, or Software Engineering; 5+ years managing engineers.
Expert-level mastery of AWS and multi-region, high-availability deployments.
Advanced experience with Kubernetes (K8s) and Docker.
Proficiency in Terraform; experience with Atlantis is a plus.
Deep experience with complex pipelines (GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, or Jenkins) and scripting (Python, Go, Bash).
Hands-on experience with observability stacks (Datadog, Observe) and SRE principles (SLIs/SLOs).
Experience as an Incident Commander for high-severity outages.
Ability to influence executive leadership and collaborate cross-functionally.
Experience integrating AI-assisted productivity tools (Cline, GitHub Copilot).
Experience leading organizational platform migrations.
Prior experience in high-velocity, product-driven early-to-mid stage companies.
AWS or Kubernetes certifications are a plus.
