About Tychon LLC

We are Tychon LLC, and we are hiring a Senior Software Engineer to help advance TYCHON Quantum Command, a multi-component security and infrastructure platform that scans, monitors, reports on, and assesses cryptographic risk and quantum readiness across customer environments. Our work supports enterprise and government systems and focuses on discovering cryptographic implementations, evaluating compliance against standards such as CNSA and NIST, and enabling quantum readiness initiatives. This is a full-time remote role with a compensation range of $165,000 to $180,000 per year. We offer a comprehensive benefits package that includes 401(k), 401(k) matching, AD&D, dental, dependent health coverage, disability, health, life, vision, paid holidays, paid time off, and work-from-home support. We welcome candidates with military experience and encourage applicants of all ages, including those without a college degree.

Responsibilities

  • Design, build, and maintain core components of our TYCHON Quantum Command platform.
  • Develop capabilities for cryptographic discovery, telemetry collection, and compliance reporting.
  • Work across a multi-language stack that includes Go, C++, Rust, and React.
  • Troubleshoot complex issues involving networking, concurrency, system performance, and distributed services.
  • Improve platform observability through stronger logging, metrics, and diagnostic tooling for mission environments.
  • Support integration with enterprise and government systems.
  • Participate in architecture discussions, design reviews, and secure development practices.
  • Collaborate with product, security, and domain specialists in cryptography and compliance.
  • Ensure our software aligns with secure coding standards and regulatory expectations.
  • Use AI-assisted development tools responsibly and verify outputs for correctness, security, and reliability.

Requirements

Must have:

  • 7 years of experience designing, building, and operating production-grade software systems.
  • Strong background in systems engineering, infrastructure engineering, or security engineering.
  • Proficiency in at least one of the following languages: Go, C++, or Rust.
  • Experience with complex, multi-component, or distributed environments.
  • Solid grasp of networking fundamentals, including TCP/IP, TLS, and sockets.
  • Experience with concurrent, asynchronous, or high-performance software.
  • Demonstrated skill in diagnosing difficult problems across system, network, and code layers.
  • Experience designing modular architectures, APIs, or service boundaries.
  • Familiarity with secure coding practices and handling sensitive information.
  • Ability to quickly understand and improve large or unfamiliar codebases.
  • Strong communication and documentation skills.
  • Experience with AI-assisted development tools such as GitHub Copilot, Codex, Cursor, or similar, with the ability to review and validate generated code safely.
  • Experience supporting DoD, federal, or other regulated environments.
  • Familiarity with NIST frameworks and CNSA requirements.
  • Exposure to FedRAMP, STIG, or similar compliance standards.
  • Experience with network traffic analysis, packet capture, or endpoint telemetry.
  • Experience with cryptographic systems, PKI, or certificate lifecycle management.
  • Experience deploying software into air-gapped or controlled environments.
  • Ability to obtain a U.S. security clearance.
  • Mentoring experience or technical leadership contributions.
  • Bachelor's degree preferred, but not required.
  • Full-time employment is required.
