Location and Schedule
- Location: Fully Remote (Must reside in Colorado)
- Department: UCHlth Patient Line Referrals
- Work Schedule: Full Time, 80.00 hours per pay period (2 weeks)
- Shift: Days
- Pay: $19.67 - $25.57 / hour (Dependent on experience)
Summary
Ensures compliance with managed care, commercial insurance, and public insurance requirements. Submits and tracks referrals while providing efficient patient flow and service excellence.
Responsibilities
- Verifies eligibility and benefits; obtains authorizations for treatment or precertification of high-cost drugs.
- Tracks referrals and formulary requirements to ensure compliance with guidelines.
- Responds to inquiries from third-party payors, employers, internal staff, and physicians.
- Maintains information on health plan guidelines and provides training on requirements.
- Obtains Advance Beneficiary Notice (ABN) or Notice of Exclusions from Medicare Benefits (NEMB) when required.
- Ensures confidentiality of patient and institutional information.
- Monitors patient needs and prepares written reports.
- Utilizes critical thinking and decisive judgment to work in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision.
Requirements
- Education: High School diploma or GED required; Associate's degree preferred.
- Experience: 6 months of experience in healthcare.
