The School of Education & Human Development (SEHD) at the University of Colorado Denver is a statewide and national leader for educational quality, access, and equity.

What You Will Do

A University Liaison serves in a supervisory capacity for teacher candidates completing early field experiences and clinical internships. Responsibilities include:

  • Collaborating with school-based leaders and mentor teachers to support teacher candidate development.
  • Teaching site-based collaborative learning community seminars (for those in a PDS).
  • Supporting the development of university partnerships, including inquiry and renewal of effective teaching practice.
  • Providing virtual supervision to students in state-wide, job-embedded pathways (e.g., P-TAP, T-PREP) via Zoom, email, and video-coaching.
  • Serving on the CU Denver Teacher Education Partnership Council.
  • Supporting the admission interview process for selecting teacher candidates.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

  • Earned master's degree in education or a relevant content area.
  • Successful teaching or leadership practice in K-12, especially with diverse student populations.
  • Experience in mentoring and coaching teacher candidates and/or new teachers.
  • Significant collaboration skills in working with multiple stakeholders (e.g., district administrators, principals, teachers).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Ed.D. or Ph.D. in a relevant content area.
  • Successful experience in teacher education at the undergraduate or graduate level.

Conditions of Employment

  • Lecturers are generally limited to two courses per term. This is a semester-by-semester appointment with the possibility of renewal.
  • This position follows a hybrid work structure.
