Job Description
The Engineer 2 position requires 5-7 years of related experience and an accredited bachelor's degree. You will be responsible for applying engineering processes, design criteria, and software applications to design and construct power-related systems.
This role supports estimate preparation, develops design options, and prepares construction specifications. You will also provide guidance, oversight, and quality assurance reviews for approved contractors as they develop design solutions, cost estimates, and construction packages.
Job Responsibilities
- Create a safe work environment by prioritizing safety.
- Understand the processes used for planning, design, operation, construction, and maintenance.
- Understand the functions and activities of various internal departments involved in design, construction, and maintenance.
- Understand design practices and work processes.
- Utilize all software applications used in design and understand industry and client design standards.
- Support design standard and criteria development for the system.
- Support construction and maintenance teams during day-to-day operations.
- Estimate material for projects, transmit construction packages, and support specifications.
Skillsets & Expertise
- Strong engineering knowledge and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to exercise discretion and make independent decisions based on procedures and supervisor review.
- Proficiency in discipline-specific software.
- Strong work ethic, positive attitude, and the ability to build effective relationships with plant staff, design engineering staff, and vendors.
Education
- Accredited bachelor's degree.
