Job description

Role Overview

Our client is a growing healthcare organization seeking a strategic, hands-on executive to serve as a key partner in advancing its mission. This is a high-visibility leadership role with meaningful influence across the organization—ideal for a finance executive who thrives in mission-driven environments and brings both strategic vision and operational rigor.

This position offers a hybrid work schedule.

What You'll Lead

  • Enterprise financial strategy, forecasting, budgeting, and long-range planning
  • Grant and contract financial management, including compliance, reporting, and stewardship
  • Accounting operations, treasury, cash flow management, and internal controls
  • Audit preparation, tax filings, regulatory reporting, and GAAP compliance
  • Executive and Board-level financial reporting and presentations
  • Financial systems optimization and reporting infrastructure improvements
  • Multi-entity financial oversight across a growing portfolio of programs and entities

The Ideal Candidate

You are a mission-aligned finance executive with a builder's mindset—someone who can identify gaps, strengthen processes, and elevate the finance function without losing sight of the organization's broader purpose. You communicate complex financial information clearly to both financial and non-financial audiences, and you lead teams with clarity, accountability, and care.

You bring experience from nonprofit, healthcare, or other mission-driven organizations, particularly those operating within grant-funded, government-funded, or managed care reimbursement environments.

Qualifications

  • Progressive senior finance leadership experience in a nonprofit, healthcare, behavioral health, or similarly complex mission-driven organization
  • Deep familiarity with grant and contract financial management, compliance, and government funding structures
  • Strong command of GAAP, audit readiness, and regulatory reporting requirements
  • Proven ability to lead and develop finance and accounting teams
  • Executive-level communication skills with demonstrated experience presenting to Boards and senior leadership
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance required; master's degree preferred
  • CPA preferred but not required
  • Familiarity with Medicaid, Medicare, or managed care reimbursement is a plus

Compensation and Benefits

Determining compensation depends upon a wide array of factors including individual skill sets, experience, training, licensure, certifications, office location, and other business needs. Eligible candidates may receive discretionary bonuses and participate in medical, dental, vision benefits, and a 401(k) retirement plan.
