About Woven by Toyota

Woven by Toyota is enabling Toyota's once-in-a-century transformation into a mobility company. Inspired by a legacy of innovating for the benefit of others, our mission is to challenge the current state of mobility through human-centric innovation — expanding what "mobility" means and how it serves society.

Our work centers on four pillars: AD/ADAS, our autonomous driving and advanced driver assist technologies; Arene, our software development platform for software-defined vehicles; Woven City, a test course for mobility; and Cloud & AI, the digital infrastructure powering our collaborative foundation. Business-critical functions empower these teams to execute, and together, we're working toward one bold goal: a world with zero accidents and enhanced well-being for all.

TEAM

Toyota is redefining what it means to move. We're challenging the current state of mobility by enhancing the movement of people, goods, information and energy. Centered around three core concepts - A Living Laboratory™, Human-Centered, and Ever Evolving City™ - Woven City serves as a test course for mobility to fulfill our purpose of well-being for all.

We do this by bringing together a diverse community of people with a shared passion for the future of mobility to co-create, develop and refine innovative products and services. This cross-section of social infrastructure, mobility, and people provides a unique opportunity for inventors, residents and visitors to interact seamlessly with new technologies throughout daily life in an environment that emulates a real city.

This team, composed of specialists in the power business, software development and new business development, is responsible for planning and launching new energy management services for EV owners. This work supports Toyota's transformation into a "Mobility Company" by collaborating with Woven City's in-house power operations team and other relevant departments within Toyota Motor Corporation.

You will report to the Lead of Product Management Energy.

WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR?

As the Energy Service Sales Manager, you will own the commercial performance for the energy services our team is developing, with a focus on managing the relationship with the dealers, ensuring they are well supported in running the sales operations.

Your primary focus will be on the sales and commercial side of the business — building and managing the pipeline, supporting dealers to sell effectively, and designing attractive sales initiatives — working closely with the Delivery Manager who will own the actual delivery, installation, and service operations.

You will:

  • Build trusted, long-term relationships with Toyota / Lexus dealers and related sales organizations
  • Translate product capabilities into compelling, easy-to-sell offerings and sales narratives
  • Own and track commercial metrics (pipeline, conversion, revenue, margin) and drive actions to improve them
  • Closely coordinate with the Delivery Manager to ensure what we sell is operationally feasible and profitable

We are looking for someone with strong dealer/channel sales and account management experience in energy, mobility, or other infrastructure-related industries, who is comfortable working in an ambiguous, fast-changing environment and partnering with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Own dealer-channel commercial performance for energy services: pipeline, conversion, revenue, and gross margin
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with dealers, acting as the primary commercial point of contact
  • Design and refine sales offerings, price structures, and campaign concepts in collaboration with product, finance, and marketing, ensuring they are competitive, profitable, and operationally feasible
  • Support dealers in the full sales funnel: lead generation, qualification, quotations, closing, and handover to the Delivery team, including providing guidance on deal structuring and upsell/cross-sell opportunities
  • Work closely with the Energy Service Delivery Manager to align commercial promises with delivery capacity, installation constraints, and risk management
  • Plan and execute dealer enablement activities (e.g., training, playbooks, FAQs, sales tools) and collect feedback from the field to improve our value proposition and processes
  • Monitor and analyze sales performance data, produce regular reporting, and drive corrective actions where needed
  • Spend around 10--20% of your time visiting dealers and customer sites to support key opportunities, observe real-world constraints, and strengthen relationships
  • Allocate 5--10% of your time to administrative tasks such as documentation, and internal reporting

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree or higher
  • 7+ years of professional experience in sales, account management, or business development in energy, construction, mobility, or other infrastructure-related industries
  • Proven experience managing dealer or channel networks, including ownership of revenue targets and pipeline management
  • Demonstrated ability to structure commercial offerings (pricing, packages, incentives) and to balance customer value, feasibility, and profitability
  • Basic understanding of residential energy equipment (e.g., solar PV, V2H, home batteries) or EV charging — or the ability to ramp up quickly — sufficient to discuss proposals with dealers
  • Business-level proficiency in Japanese. Conversational proficiency in English

NICE TO HAVES

  • Hands-on experience in launching new products or services, including setting up sales processes, tools, and KPIs from scratch
  • Experience designing commercial models for energy or mobility solutions (e.g., financing schemes, bundles, subscription models, dealer incentives)
  • Familiarity with EVs, home energy management systems, and electricity business models
  • Experience in implementing and improving business management systems for sales operations
  • Experience in planning and implementing marketing initiatives
  • Experience working in large organizations in Japan and navigating internal processes and governance
  • Experience collaborating with product and operations teams to align commercial strategy with delivery constraints

Important Points

  • All interviews will be arranged via Google Meet, unless otherwise stated.
  • The same job descriptions are available in both English and Japanese; therefore, we kindly ask that you apply to only one version.
  • We kindly request that you submit your resume in English, if possible. However, Japanese resumes are also acceptable. Please note that, depending on the English proficiency requirements of the role, we may request an English version of your resume later in the process.
