Location: Arizona or California (Virtual role with periodic office presence; ideally near a major airport).
Zurich is currently looking for a Senior Construction Specialties Risk Engineer for the Builders Risk Line of Business. This is a work-from-home virtual role with expected travel of 25-30%. A company car is provided.
Role Overview
You will be responsible for leveraging Zurich's risk engineering tools and services to improve customer risk and facilitate general account management for customers who purchase Zurich Construction's Builder's Risk Insurance product. You will manage business partner relationships within the region.
Risk Engineering services include remote and onsite surveys and risk assessments of construction companies and projects, including large data centers and the energy sector, as well as overall operations reviews. You will provide technical support to customers, underwriters, and the claims department by identifying improvement strategies and preparing internal/external reports.
Note: Final candidates will be subject to a Motor Vehicle Record background check.
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree with 6+ years of experience in Construction, Engineering, or Risk Consulting OR
- High School Diploma/Equivalent with 8+ years of experience in Construction, Engineering, or Risk Consulting OR
- Zurich Certified Apprentice (Associates degree + 6+ years of experience in Risk Engineering)
- Experience working in a team environment
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Building Technology, or equivalent
- 20+ years of combined experience in Construction/Project Management/Engineering consulting
- Advanced knowledge of construction processes, quality management, and associated risks
- Experience with data center construction and energy projects (solar, geothermal, hydro, nuclear, etc.)
- Knowledge of NFPA 70E Standards, project cost/scheduling, and supply chains
- Hazard identification & mitigation skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, technology, and virtual consulting
- Professional certifications (CCM, P.E., PMP, AIA, LEED AP, etc.)
- Strong leadership, communication, and technical writing skills
Compensation and Benefits
The proposed salary range is $100,200.00 - $164,100.00, with short-term incentive bonus eligibility of 15%. We offer competitive pay and comprehensive benefits.
