Senior Risk Engineering Consultant- Construction Casualty
Location: Remote (Eastern Tennessee preferred, with consideration for Northern Georgia and Western North/South Carolina) Travel: 30-50%
Zurich is seeking a Senior Construction Risk Engineering Consultant for its Casualty Lines of Business. This remote position focuses on providing expert risk engineering services to construction clients, aiming to minimize losses and enhance sustainability and business resiliency.
Key Responsibilities:
- Adapt Zurich's innovative solutions to the construction industry to reduce customer losses and improve sustainability and business resiliency.
- Utilize Zurich's risk engineering tools and services to enhance customer risk management for Workers Compensation, General Liability, and Auto Liability policies.
- Deliver high-quality consultative services, including identifying exposures, assessing risk control gaps, and recommending mitigation strategies.
- Investigate the cause and effect of major losses to inform hazard and safety management programs.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with customers and business partners, collaborating on service plans.
- Market and sell fee-based services to support customer risk mitigation efforts.
- Create advanced presentations and deliver risk management training to customers and internal teams.
- Provide risk improvement advice, conduct loss investigations (trend and root cause analysis), and implement risk improvement programs.
- Assist customers with developing corporate and project-specific QA/QC plans, safety plans, and construction defect investigations.
- Conduct building envelope reviews and identify moisture mitigation needs.
- Participate in sales meetings and presentations, contributing to fee income through opportunity spotting and cross-selling.
A company car will be provided. A Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) background check will be conducted for final candidates.
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree and 6+ years of experience in Construction Risk Engineering, Safety/Risk Management, or Construction Field Operations.
- OR High School Diploma/Equivalent and 8+ years of experience in Construction Risk Engineering, Safety/Risk Management, or Construction Field Operations.
- Experience working in a team environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Construction Safety/Risk experience, preferably with Project Management and/or Superintendent experience (mid to senior level).
- Experience with both Regulated and Non-Regulated Fleets.
- Data Center construction experience.
- Experience with large commercial construction projects (industrial, medical, educational).
- Advanced knowledge of construction safety, operations, quality management, and associated risks.
- Professional certifications (e.g., CRIS, ARM, CHST, CSP, ASP, P.E.).
- High proficiency in Microsoft Office and IOS platforms.
- Strong technical writing skills for creating customer and internal work products.
- Experience working both independently and in team environments.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and consulting skills, with the ability to engage effectively at corporate and project site levels.
- Demonstrated leadership and involvement in extracurricular activities, organizations, or community service.

Compensation: The proposed salary range for this position is $100,200.00 - $164,100.00 annually, with eligibility for a short-term incentive bonus (15%). Pay is determined by role, location, skills, and experience, adhering to local laws.
