Job Summary
Zurich North America is seeking a motivated UA Associate to join our Domestic Casualty team. This role offers a fantastic opportunity to support experienced Underwriters in risk analysis and assessment, utilizing and developing your research and analytical skills.
Work Model & Location
This is a hybrid position, offering flexibility while emphasizing in-person collaboration. The selected candidate must be able to work from one of the following North American office locations: Denver, CO; Los Angeles, CA; or San Francisco, CA.
Key Responsibilities
- Risk Evaluation: Review, evaluate, and summarize exposures, controls, loss history, and financial data to assist underwriting decisions.
- Policy Support: Assist Underwriters with policy rating, pricing, construction, coverages, exclusions, and mandatory forms to ensure accurate quoting and issuance.
- Account Servicing: Provide end-to-end servicing for new business, renewals, and endorsements for basic to moderately complex accounts in collaboration with Underwriters and Managers.
- Inquiry Response: Respond to written and verbal inquiries promptly and professionally under supervision.
- Customer Interaction: Support Underwriters in interactions with brokers, agents, distributors, and customers by providing excellent customer service.
Qualifications
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree with no prior experience in Administrative, Customer Service, Financial Services, Risk Management, or Insurance; OR
- Zurich Certified Insurance Apprentice with an Associate Degree and no prior relevant experience; OR
- High School Diploma or Equivalent with 2+ years of experience in Administrative, Customer Service, Financial Services, Risk Management, or Insurance.
- Proficiency in data collection and analysis.
- Microsoft Office Suite experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Insurance industry knowledge.
- Familiarity with insurance processing, rating, and policy management systems.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent relationship-building and active listening skills.
- Customer service experience.
- Detail-oriented with a commitment to providing accurate data promptly.
- Self-directed with the ability to meet deadlines.
- Multi-tasking capabilities.
- Willingness to travel up to 5%.
Compensation & Benefits
- Salary Range: $23.80 - $38.94 per hour.
- Incentive Bonus: 5% short-term incentive bonus.
