Position Overview

The associate will work on a broad range of surety and construction-related matters, including litigation in both state and federal courts, contract drafting and negotiation, dispute resolution, and client counseling.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 2 years of legal experience
  • Active Texas bar license or eligibility for admission through the Uniform Bar Examination (UBE)
  • Strong academic background with excellent legal writing, communication, and analytical skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a collaborative, team-oriented environment alongside attorneys, clients, consultants, and industry professionals

Preferred Experience

  • Legal or practical experience within the construction industry

  • Experience handling:

    • Construction disputes
    • Mechanics liens
    • Drafting and negotiating construction contracts and related documentation
  • Familiarity with surety or construction litigation matters is strongly preferred
