Cloud Security Engineer - Remote (Temp Contract)

Location: Yorba Linda, CA (100% Remote)

Pay Rate: $70-$90/hour

Client operates on Mountain Time

We are seeking an experienced Cloud Security Engineer for a remote contract opportunity supporting enterprise cloud security and DevSecOps initiatives. This role focuses on identifying and remediating AWS cloud vulnerabilities while developing scalable security tools and automation solutions across cloud environments.

Key Responsibilities

• Identify, analyze, and remediate AWS cloud security vulnerabilities
• Build and enhance cloud security tooling, automation, and infrastructure solutions
• Support DevSecOps strategies and improve CI/CD security processes
• Collaborate with engineering and product teams to strengthen cloud deployment security
• Develop scripts and automation using Python and cloud-native technologies including AWS Lambda and Google Cloud Platform
• Assist with security analysis, compliance initiatives, and infrastructure optimization
• Improve deployment reliability, scalability, and overall security posture
• Contribute to proof-of-concepts, prototypes, and technical documentation

Qualifications

• Experience with AWS, Google Cloud Platform, or Azure cloud platforms
• Strong understanding of DevSecOps, CI/CD pipelines, and cloud security best practices
• Hands-on experience with Python, Terraform, CloudFormation, or automation tools
• Knowledge of Jenkins, Ansible, Chef, Puppet, or similar orchestration technologies
• Understanding of SDLC automation and security operations
• Strong troubleshooting, communication, and problem-solving skills
• Experience working in Agile development environments preferred
