About The Role

Are you studying to become a pilot or controller --- or do you have hands-on experience with aviation communications? We're looking for aviation-knowledgeable specialists to help train next-generation AI systems by reviewing and transcribing real pilot-to-tower audio. Your expertise directly improves the accuracy, safety, and real-world reliability of AI in aviation.

  • Type: Hourly Contract
  • Location: Fully Remote
  • Commitment: Flexible --- work on your own schedule

What You'll Do

  • Listen to and transcribe authentic pilot-to-tower radio communications
  • Review and annotate aviation audio for accuracy and contextual correctness
  • Identify errors, ambiguities, or miscommunications in transcribed data
  • Apply your knowledge of standard aviation phraseology and protocols to improve AI outputs
  • Provide structured feedback that helps AI better understand real-world flight communications
  • Complete task-based assignments asynchronously at your own pace

Who You Are

  • Currently enrolled in or recently completed a flight training program (student pilot, PPL, CPL, ATPL track) --- or have equivalent aviation communications experience
  • Familiar with standard aviation radio phraseology and ATC communication procedures
  • Strong listening comprehension and attention to detail
  • Able to transcribe audio accurately and consistently
  • Self-motivated and comfortable working independently
  • No prior AI or data labeling experience required

Nice to Have

  • Experience with actual flight simulator or real cockpit radio communications
  • Familiarity with NAV CANADA, FAA, ICAO, or other regulatory communication standards
  • Background in air traffic control, dispatch, or aviation operations

Why Join Us

  • Work remotely on a fully flexible schedule that fits around your studies or career
  • Contribute to cutting-edge AI projects with real-world safety implications
  • Gain exposure to how AI is being built and trained in the aviation domain
  • Freelance perks: full autonomy, asynchronous work, and no micromanagement
  • Potential for ongoing work and contract extension as projects evolve
  • Make a meaningful impact --- your contributions help make aviation AI safer for everyone
