Job description

About The Role

What if your expertise in social analytics could directly shape the performance of campaigns reaching millions of fans, viewers, and consumers across the world's biggest media and entertainment brands?

We're looking for a Senior Social Media Analyst to own advanced analytics, surface actionable insights, and deliver strategic reporting across social channels --- all from wherever you work best. This is a fully remote contract role built for someone who lives and breathes social data and knows how to turn numbers into narratives that drive real decisions.

  • Type: Hourly Contract
  • Location: Remote
  • Industry: Media, Advertising & Entertainment

What You'll Do

  • Lead end-to-end social media analytics and performance reporting across multiple channels and platforms
  • Design and maintain dashboards and reporting frameworks that surface meaningful, decision-ready insights
  • Analyze campaign performance data for media and entertainment clients, identifying trends, opportunities, and areas for optimization
  • Translate complex data sets into clear, compelling narratives for both technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Develop strategic recommendations based on performance insights to inform content, targeting, and channel strategies
  • Monitor platform algorithm changes, emerging social trends, and competitive benchmarks relevant to the media and entertainment space
  • Collaborate with creative, strategy, and media teams to align analytics outputs with campaign goals
  • Deliver regular and ad hoc reports with precision, clarity, and strategic context

Who You Are

  • Experienced social media analyst with a strong track record of delivering insights in fast-paced media, advertising, or entertainment environments
  • Deep familiarity with major social platforms --- Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, X (Twitter), Facebook, LinkedIn --- and their native analytics tools
  • Proficient with third-party analytics and listening platforms (e.g., Sprinklr, Brandwatch, Hootsuite, Sprout Social, or similar)
  • Strong command of data visualization and reporting --- you know how to make data land with an audience
  • Comfortable working with large datasets; experience with Excel, Google Sheets, or basic SQL is a plus
  • Strategic thinker who goes beyond the numbers to ask why and what's next
  • Self-directed and reliable --- you deliver quality work independently without needing hand-holding
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Nice to Have

  • Experience working with entertainment studios, streaming platforms, broadcast networks, or advertising agencies
  • Familiarity with paid social reporting and cross-channel attribution models
  • Background in audience research, consumer insights, or media planning
  • Experience building executive-level performance decks and presenting to senior stakeholders
  • Knowledge of influencer analytics and creator economy metrics

Why This Role

  • Work with high-profile media and entertainment campaigns --- the kind of work that actually gets seen
  • Fully remote and flexible --- structure your hours around when you do your best thinking
  • Freelance autonomy with the substance of senior-level, strategically meaningful work
  • Ongoing contract potential as campaign cycles continue and new projects launch
  • Collaborate with sharp, experienced media professionals in a results-focused environment
