Senior Director, Business Development

We're partnering with a growing healthcare insights organization to support the expansion of its HCP‑focused insights and strategy function. This team operates within the third‑party research and insights space, delivering data‑driven engagements to life sciences clients. These hires will play a key role in building a scalable, high‑impact commercial team.

About the Role

This is a senior, consultative business development role focused on identifying new opportunities, expanding client relationships, and shaping how insights are positioned and sold. Engagements are typically project‑based, centered around research outputs, analysis, and strategic insight, rather than large bundled products.

The role is 100% remote (US‑based) and well suited for candidates who thrive in entrepreneurial, growth‑stage environments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Drive new business development within the healthcare insights and research space
  • Lead a consultative sales process, helping clients identify gaps and opportunities
  • Partner closely with internal teams to refine offerings and go‑to‑market strategy
  • Sell project‑based insights engagements (typically mid‑five‑figure range)
  • Help evolve sales tools, messaging, and processes as the organization scales
  • Build relationships with new logos and expand enterprise‑level value propositions

Ideal Background

  • Strong experience in business development, market research, insights, or consulting
  • Proven ability to sell data‑driven or research‑based solutions
  • Deep understanding of HCP engagement, buyer behavior, and decision‑making
  • Experience within pharma, healthcare, or life sciences
  • Comfortable operating across both strategic and technical conversations
  • Entrepreneurial, proactive, and able to operate in a flat, peer‑level organization
  • Strong thought‑leadership orientation with established client and stakeholder networks
  • Hunter mindset with a focus on new relationships and new logos

Compensation & Onboarding

  • Commission ramp begins following onboarding
  • Structured onboarding with a strong sales enablement program, including training, shadowing, and market/product immersion

Travel

  • Periodic travel to key industry conferences and client meetings throughout the year
