Overview
A global, private equity-backed technology company is continuing to build out its finance organization and is seeking a US Accounting Lead. This is a high-impact role with broad ownership across accounting operations, audit, and tax, offering strong visibility and collaboration with senior leadership in a growth-oriented environment.
Role Summary
The US Accounting Lead will oversee core accounting functions for the U.S. business, including leading the external audit process and managing U.S. tax oversight. This individual will play a critical role in ensuring financial accuracy, compliance, and operational efficiency while partnering closely with global finance leadership.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the end-to-end external audit process, serving as the primary liaison with auditors and ensuring timely, accurate deliverables
- Oversee U.S. GAAP compliance and maintain strong internal controls across accounting processes
- Manage and review month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close activities for U.S. entities
- Provide oversight of U.S. tax matters, including coordination with external advisors on federal, state, and local filings
- Ensure compliance with evolving regulatory and tax requirements
- Partner with FP&A and senior leadership to support financial reporting, analysis, and strategic initiatives
- Identify and implement process improvements to strengthen accounting operations and scalability
- Support integration and alignment efforts within a private equity-backed structure
Qualifications
- 5-7 years of experience in accounting (public accounting industry experience preferred)
- Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP and audit processes
- Experience managing or leading external audits
- Working knowledge of U.S. tax requirements and coordination with external tax providers
- CPA strongly preferred (or active progress toward certification)
- Experience in technology, SaaS, or PE-backed environments highly desirable
- Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to operate independently in a remote environment
- Excellent communication skills and ability to partner cross-functionally
Compensation
- Total compensation: $160K-$165K
- Typically structured as a mix of base salary and bonus (competitive market split within this range)
