- Compliance support - generate documents, issue annual notices, and ensure reports that support ongoing federal and state compliance are completed. Conduct basic research and audits (e.g., employee file audits, handbook reviews).
- Offboarding - support employee termination tasks including drafting offboarding emails, completing federal and state notice requirements, and processing final paychecks.
From time to time, this role will also support the team with other tasks. These include:
- Recruiting support - post new roles, screen resumes, and manage candidate communication & coordination, etc.
- State registrations and insurance - research and collect information on behalf of clients, file and respond to notices, etc.
- Documentation - update and maintain SOPs and compliance calendars for core administrative and compliance tasks for each client account.
- Project management - track tasks and timelines to support client managers, proactively managing up to ensure alignment and drive progress.
What We're Looking For

- Prior experience with HR, office management, or administrative responsibilities
- Proven ability to self-manage and thrive in an environment that requires rapid context switching and daily changes to deadlines and priorities
- Clear, professional communication (written and verbal)
- Organized and detail-oriented with a strong sense of follow-through
- Strong project management skills with proven success managing up
- A flexible, proactive mindset - someone who likes figuring things out
- Comfort working independently in a remote environment
- Curiosity about business and strong ability to grasp how organizations work
Nice to Have (but Not Required):
- Background working in a consultative, B2B environment
- Experience working for small business and/or early-stage companies
