Job Title: Sr. Manager - Privacy

Position Type: Contract (3 Months, Potential Extension)

Location: New York (100% Remote Considered)

Salary Range: Open / Best Market Rate

Job Summary (Responsibilities and Requirements):

  • Experienced Sr. Manager - Privacy to lead and support enterprise privacy and compliance initiatives across North America.
  • This role is responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining privacy programs, ensuring compliance with U.S. privacy laws, conducting privacy risk assessments, reviewing contracts, managing privacy incidents, and partnering with legal, business, and technology teams to reduce regulatory risk.
  • The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in U.S. privacy regulations, strong contract review experience, and the ability to support complex business initiatives while maintaining regulatory compliance.

Description:

  • Lead and enhance enterprise privacy and compliance programs.
  • Ensure compliance with HIPAA, TCPA, CCPA/CPRA, and other U.S. state privacy regulations.
  • Conduct Privacy Impact Assessments (PIA/DPIA) and privacy risk reviews.
  • Review and negotiate privacy-related contractual language.
  • Draft and maintain privacy notices, policies, and procedures.
  • Investigate privacy incidents, breaches, and regulatory inquiries.
  • Develop and maintain privacy governance, compliance documentation, and standard operating procedures.
  • Perform privacy risk assessments and recommend mitigation strategies.
  • Partner with Legal, IT, Security, HR, Marketing, and business stakeholders on privacy initiatives.
  • Deliver privacy training and awareness programs.
  • Monitor changes in privacy laws and ensure ongoing organizational compliance.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • 10+ years of experience in Privacy Compliance.
  • Strong expertise in U.S. Privacy Laws, including:
  • HIPAA
  • TCPA
  • CCPA/CPRA
  • Other U.S. State Privacy Regulations
  • Extensive experience with:
  • Contract Review
  • DPIA/PIA Reviews
  • Privacy Notice Drafting
  • Privacy Incident Investigation & Response
  • Strong understanding of privacy regulations and legal interpretation.
  • Excellent Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
  • Strong communication, stakeholder management, and leadership skills.
  • High ethical standards and professional integrity.

Preferences (Not Required):

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree.
  • Law license.
  • Certified Information Privacy Professional (CIPP) certification.
  • Healthcare industry or healthcare privacy experience.
  • Experience supporting enterprise privacy governance programs across multiple business units.
  • Experience leading compliance training and regulatory audits.
