As part of their continued growth, our client is seeking a Senior Accountant to support their capital management efforts. This role will play a critical part in financial reporting, capital planning, and regulatory compliance within a dynamic insurance environment.

Job Details

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced professional with a strong background in statutory accounting and insurance. This individual will play a critical role in our finance team, providing expert guidance on financial reporting, auditing, and regulatory compliance.

Responsibilities

1. Oversee all aspects of statutory accounting and capital management for our P&C insurance division.
2. Prepare and analyze financial reports to ensure accuracy and compliance with state and federal regulations.
3. Conduct internal audits to identify any areas of risk or non-compliance.
4. Collaborate with other departments to develop and implement financial strategies and initiatives.
5. Provide expert advice and guidance on financial matters to senior management.
6. Travel for in-person meetings on a quarterly basis (1 trip per quarter for about 4 days).
7. Stay up-to-date with industry trends and changes in accounting regulations.
8. Mentor and guide junior members of the finance team.

Qualifications

1. Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation is preferred.
2. Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
3. 7+ years of experience in statutory accounting and/or capital management.
4. 1-3 years of public accounting experience preferred.
5. Proven experience in the insurance industry (preferred in for a P&C insurance company).
6. Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
7. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
8. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
9. Willingness to travel for in-person meetings on a quarterly basis.
10. Proficiency in financial software and Microsoft Office Suite.
