Job Details
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced professional with a strong background in statutory accounting and insurance. This individual will play a critical role in our finance team, providing expert guidance on financial reporting, auditing, and regulatory compliance.
Responsibilities
- Oversee all aspects of statutory accounting and capital management for our P&C insurance division.
- Prepare and analyze financial reports to ensure accuracy and compliance with state and federal regulations.
- Conduct internal audits to identify any areas of risk or non-compliance.
- Collaborate with other departments to develop and implement financial strategies and initiatives.
- Provide expert advice and guidance on financial matters to senior management.
- Travel for in-person meetings on a quarterly basis (1 trip per quarter for about 4 days).
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends and changes in accounting regulations.
- Mentor and guide junior members of the finance team.
Qualifications
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation is preferred.
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
- 7+ years of experience in statutory accounting and/or capital management.
- 1-3 years of public accounting experience preferred.
- Proven experience in the insurance industry (preferred in for a P&C insurance company).
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Willingness to travel for in-person meetings on a quarterly basis.
- Proficiency in financial software and Microsoft Office Suite.
