Position Summary
The Payroll Analyst will be responsible for supporting complex multi-state and high-volume payroll processing. This position ensures payroll accuracy, regulatory compliance, and provides expert-level data analysis and problem resolution using advanced payroll systems and tools. All work is performed remotely.
Key Responsibilities
- Process payroll for large, multi-state employee populations, ensuring accuracy and compliance with all federal, state, and local laws.
- Review and audit payroll data using ADP GlobalView, Excel, and related payroll systems.
- Utilize advanced Excel skills (formulas, pivot tables, data analysis) to manage and report payroll information.
- Troubleshoot and resolve payroll discrepancies, system issues, and data errors efficiently.
- Maintain strict confidentiality of employee payroll and sensitive HR data.
- Prepare payroll reports, analyze variances, and support audits as necessary.
- Communicate payroll policies, deadlines, and changes to internal stakeholders and answer employee inquiries.
Technical & Analytical Skills
- Deep understanding of payroll compliance regulations, standard concepts, practices, and procedures.
- Proven ability with payroll systems, especially ADP GlobalView; experience with SAP Payroll is a plus.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including VLOOKUP, SUMIF, IF statements, pivot tables, and complex statistical functions.
- Strong experience analyzing, troubleshooting, and validating complex data sets and formulas.
- Comfortable navigating multiple payroll, HR, and reporting tools (Excel, Word, PC-based applications).
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field preferred; Associate's degree with significant relevant payroll experience accepted.
- 4-5 years of multi-state payroll processing experience in a large, automated environment (10,000 employees).
- Demonstrated knowledge of end-to-end payroll processing and reporting in ADP GlobalView.
- Approachable, organized, and detail-oriented with excellent communication skills.
- Ability to work independently in a fully remote setting.
