Job Description

The Senior Operational Oracle DBA will be responsible for entering codes to create production databases, monitoring performance, and directing programmers to make necessary changes. This role involves modifying database programs to increase processing performance (performance tuning) and ensuring the stability, patching, and scalability of critical environments supporting multiple concurrent ERP implementations and upgrades.

Responsibilities

  • Planning, development, maintenance, and monitoring of integrated database systems.
  • Ensuring conceptual and design phases of new applications are consistent with structural parameters.
  • Evaluating user requests for new data elements and systems.
  • Providing technical assistance and coordinating data usage to ensure integrity and control redundancy.
  • Loading, reorganizing, and performing data modeling/prototyping (logical and physical).
  • Designing relational database models.
  • Performing security recovery procedures and determining storage requirements.
  • Maintaining the data dictionary and setting standards.
  • Monitoring performance and recommending efficiency improvements.
  • Creating test database environments.
  • Executing procedures to save, retrieve, and recover databases from failures.
  • Assisting with security standards, disaster recovery, software installation, and benchmarking.
  • Ensuring user interfaces comply with EIR Accessibility standards.

Additional Job Details

  • Design and execute database upgrades from Oracle 19c to Oracle 23ai.
  • Maintain multiple environments supporting ETL activities.
  • Hands-on experience with Grid Infrastructure, security vulnerability compliance, and performance tuning.
  • Requires working outside standard business hours.

Minimum Requirements (Required)

Candidates must have a minimum of 8 years of experience in all areas below:

  • Infrastructure management with Oracle 19c version or higher.
  • Grid infrastructure (ASM, Clusterware).
  • High-availability (GoldenGate, Active Data Guard).
  • Advanced scripting (Linux, SQL).
  • Working knowledge of EIR Accessibility standards and assistive technologies.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working with a public sector organization (Federal, State, or Local Government).
  • Experience working with a hosting vendor.
  • Experience working with Oracle PeopleSoft products.
