Requirements
Must have:
- Expert-level command of LibreSprite with a demonstrated history of using it in production settings
- A strong portfolio highlighting professional pixel art, animation, and graphic design work
- Excellent written and spoken communication skills, with the ability to explain concepts and workflow decisions clearly
- Experience independently owning projects from initial concept through final asset handoff
- Solid grasp of sprite composition, animation methods, and the stylistic details of pixel art
- Proficiency with palette editing, tile creation, layered workflows, and managing multiple animation frames
- Ability to work independently in a remote, collaborative environment
Nice to have:
- Experience documenting or teaching creative workflows for tutorials, training, or educational content
- Familiarity with retro game art production pipelines or studio workflows
- Contributions to open-source or collaborative art initiatives
Responsibilities
- Drive full pixel art and animation projects from concept through final asset export in LibreSprite
- Create real-time animation previews and refine motion and timing to reach studio-quality standards
- Use onion skinning, layers, and advanced sprite composition tools to build smooth, dynamic animations
- Design cohesive asset packs, including sprite sheets, character animations, tilesets, UI elements, and retro-style illustrations
- Apply tiled drawing mode, custom palettes, and pixel-precise tools to craft detailed patterns and artwork
- Export optimized sprites and animations in the required production formats while meeting technical and artistic specifications
- Communicate workflow choices, creative decisions, and technical approaches clearly in writing and verbally
