AWS Cloud Engineer

AWS Engineer (Contract | 3-6 Months)

We are seeking an experienced AWS Engineer to support a large enterprise client with cloud infrastructure engineering, automation, and security initiatives. This role will focus on designing, implementing, and supporting scalable AWS cloud solutions in a complex hybrid environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and implement cloud infrastructure, application architecture, and security architecture within AWS
• Ensure compliance with IT security policies, best practices, and enterprise standards
• Partner with IT teams, leadership, and cloud vendors to build and support cloud hosting services
• Develop automation tools and Infrastructure as Code solutions to improve scalability, availability, and operational efficiency
• Monitor production and development environments and implement proactive reliability measures
• Collaborate across infrastructure, cybersecurity, architecture, and product teams to deliver consistent solutions
• Support infrastructure projects, including endpoint security and network-related initiatives
• Manage configuration and change control processes within enterprise environments
• Perform root cause analysis on production issues and drive corrective action plans
• Create and maintain technical and end-user documentation

Required Qualifications

• Strong understanding of IT infrastructure, system administration, and application support/development
• Hands-on experience with AWS cloud technologies and modern cloud computing trends
• Deep expertise with:
  • ALB
  • EC2
  • ECS
  • S3
  • VPCs
  • VPN configurations
• Strong knowledge of AWS security best practices, including IAM roles/policies and secure VPC design
• Experience developing Infrastructure as Code using AWS CloudFormation
• Ability to troubleshoot complex infrastructure issues across hybrid on-prem and AWS environments
• Experience designing cloud architecture solutions aligned to enterprise business needs
• Ability to manage multiple concurrent IT projects across the full project lifecycle
• Knowledge of enterprise networking concepts including routing, switching, remote access, proxy, and security
• Excellent problem-solving, critical thinking, and communication skills
• Experience creating both technical and non-technical documentation
