Senior Talent Acquisition Specialist

This is a remote position, but candidates must reside within 50 miles of a facility (e.g., Roanoke, Columbus, Tulsa, Corpus Christi, Ft. Wayne, Shreveport).

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Partners with hiring managers and HR Business Partners to determine staffing needs.
  • Screens resumes, interviews candidates (by phone or in person), administers appropriate assessments and reference/background checks, makes recommendations for hire (or not hire), and delivers employment offers for both exempt and non-exempt position openings within an assigned territory.
  • Serves as an expert for recruiting candidates within an assigned territory.
  • Partners with Sourcing Specialists to bring a diverse slate of qualified candidates to the hiring manager. Manages the internal transfer process, including screening, coordination of interviews with the hiring manager, and transfer offer letters.
  • Follows up with candidates and hiring managers to obtain feedback regarding the recruiting process. Develops and maintains excellent relationships with internal and external clients to ensure the achievement of staffing goals.
  • Communicates important employment information during the delivery of employment offers (e.g., benefits, compensation, non-compete agreements). Responsible for ensuring onboarding and new hire orientation processes occur.
  • Works with hiring managers to ensure compliance with all federal/state laws and regulations, including affirmative action plan compliance. Manages current candidate activity in the applicant tracking system (ATS).
  • Manages application/resume files and retention according to company policy.
  • Suggests and helps implement on-going process improvements to ensure an effective, efficient, and compliant recruiting process.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor's degree in human resource management or related field preferred; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Minimum of five years of corporate (non-agency) talent acquisition experience, with demonstrated success recruiting and placing candidates in field and craft non-exempt roles, including both non-DOT and DOT positions.
  • Experience recruiting for union roles is strongly preferred.
  • At least three years of experience working with electronic applicant tracking systems is required, with strong preference given to candidates with Workday experience.
