About Save the Airwaves
Save the Airwaves is a DVBE-certified, veteran-owned video production company producing commercial campaigns, branded documentaries, and content for agencies, brands, and nonprofits across the country. Our clients include Chase, American Express, Visit Phoenix, and the Arizona Office of Tourism.
We are a small, fast-moving team with big clients and a bigger vision. We believe in giving people real responsibility from day one --- and this internship is no different.
About the Role
We're looking for a motivated, organized, and communicative student to join our team as a Business Development & Communications Intern. You'll work directly with our founders to help grow our agency and brand partnerships through strategic outreach via LinkedIn and email.
This is a real business development role. You'll be researching potential clients, crafting outreach messages, managing follow-ups, and tracking everything in Google Sheets. If you want to understand how a creative production company grows its client base --- this is how it's done.
And if you want to get on set? We'll make that happen.
What You'll Be Doing
- Researching and identifying agency contacts, creative directors, executive producers, and brand marketing leads
- Sending personalized cold outreach emails via Gmail on behalf of the founders
- Managing follow-up sequences to keep conversations moving
- Connecting with prospects on LinkedIn and maintaining consistent engagement
- Tracking all outreach activity in Google Sheets and reporting weekly
- Assisting with LinkedIn content scheduling and engagement
- Supporting the founders with communications as needed
What We're Looking For
- Currently enrolled in a Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, or related program at an accredited college or university
- Strong written communication skills --- you know how to write a concise, professional email that actually gets read
- Organized and detail-oriented --- nothing falls through the cracks on your watch
- Self-motivated and comfortable working independently in a remote environment
- Genuinely interested in film, video production, advertising, or the creative industry
- Based in San Diego or Arizona preferred but not required
- Bonus: experience with LinkedIn, Gmail, or Google Sheets
What You Get
- College credit (we will work with your institution to meet all requirements)
- Hands-on business development and outreach experience at a working production company
- Direct mentorship from the founders --- you'll learn how deals are made in the production industry
- Access to a national client roster and a front-row seat to how creative businesses grow
- On-set opportunity when production schedules allow --- compensated from the production budget
- A portfolio-worthy experience that stands out in a sea of social media internships
Schedule & Commitment
10 hours per week | Fully remote | Flexible scheduling around your classes
