We're seeking an experienced Tax Manager with a strong background in the Construction Industry to join our growing Tax practice. This is 100% remote based in the U.S. if not living near the NJ/NYC offices.

Summary

This individual will manage client relationships, lead complex engagements, and serve as a technical resource for construction‑focused tax matters. The ideal candidate brings deep industry knowledge, strong leadership skills, and a passion for delivering exceptional client service.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage client engagements: Oversee tax compliance and consulting projects for construction clients, including contractors, developers, and specialty trade firms.
  • Review complex tax returns: Lead the preparation and review of federal, state, and local tax filings, including partnerships, S‑corps, and multi‑state entities.
  • Provide industry‑specific tax guidance: Advise clients on construction‑related tax matters such as percentage‑of‑completion, job costing, revenue recognition, and state nexus.
  • Lead and mentor staff: Supervise seniors and associates, provide coaching, and support professional development.
  • Support business development: Participate in proposals, client presentations, and relationship‑building initiatives.
  • Ensure compliance and quality: Maintain high standards of technical accuracy, documentation, and adherence to firm policies.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting; CPA or EA license is preferred
  • 6+ years of public accounting experience, with significant exposure to construction clients
  • Strong understanding of construction‑specific tax issues
  • Proven ability to manage multiple engagements and deadlines
  • Excellent communication and client‑facing skills
  • Experience supervising and developing staff

Compensation

  • New Jersey Pay Range: $130,000 - $150,000 USD
  • New York Pay Range: $130,000 - $150,000 USD
