Job description

Position Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive HR Generalist with a strong focus on payroll operations and supporting core recruitment activities. This role is responsible for ensuring accurate and compliant payroll processing, while also assisting with end-to-end recruitment and general HR operations across the employee lifecycle. The ideal candidate has hands-on payroll experience in the U.S. and is comfortable working in a fast-paced, fully remote environment.

Key Responsibilities

Payroll (Primary Focus)

  • Manage end-to-end U.S. payroll processing in coordination with payroll vendors/systems
  • Ensure timely and accurate payroll execution, including salaries, bonuses, overtime, and deductions
  • Maintain payroll records and ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations
  • Handle payroll inquiries from employees and resolve discrepancies
  • Support payroll audits and reporting requirements
  • Partner with Finance on payroll reconciliation and month-end close activities

Recruitment & Staffing

  • Support full-cycle recruitment including job posting, sourcing, screening, and interview coordination
  • Partner with hiring managers to understand role requirements and support hiring needs
  • Support onboarding process for new hires

HR Operations & Compliance

  • Maintain employee records in HR systems
  • Support benefits administration and employee lifecycle changes (onboarding, transfers, exits)
  • Ensure HR policies and procedures comply with U.S. labor laws
  • Support HR reporting and ad hoc HR projects as needed

Requirements

Must-Have

  • 10 years above of HR Generalist or HR Operations experience
  • Strong hands-on experience in U.S. payroll processing (multi-state preferred)
  • Familiarity with U.S. labor laws and payroll compliance requirements
  • Experience supporting recruitment processes
  • Proficiency in HRIS and payroll systems (e.g., ADP, Workday, Paychex, or similar)
  • Strong attention to detail and data accuracy
  • Excellent communication skills in English

  • Experience in a fully remote or distributed work environment
  • Exposure to HR analytics or reporting
  • Experience in tech or fast-growing companies
  • Communication skills in Mandarin
