Network Security Engineer (Palo Alto / Cisco FTD / Panorama)

Type: Contract / Part-Time

Location: Remote (Asia-based candidates only)

Hours: Must overlap with US Pacific Time (PST) -- ~5 hours/day

About Role:

We're looking for a hands-on Network Security Engineer with strong production-level experience in Palo Alto and Cisco FTD environments.

This is not an entry-level or purely architectural role --- you'll be actively working in live environments, troubleshooting issues, implementing changes, and supporting deployments with minimal supervision.

Key Responsibilities:

• Support and troubleshoot production firewall environments (Palo Alto & Cisco FTD)
• Handle ServiceNow tickets (incident, change, problem management)
• Assist in deployment of Palo Alto PA-5400 series firewalls
• Configure and manage Palo Alto Panorama:
  • Device Groups (policies)
  • Templates & Template Stacks (network configs)
  • Migrate firewalls into Panorama-managed environments
• Perform policy reviews, NAT troubleshooting, and traffic flow analysis
• Work with Cisco FMC for FTD environments
• Analyze logs and sessions for real-time troubleshooting
• Support change implementations with validation and rollback planning

Required Experience:

• 4--7 years of hands-on (production) experience
• Strong expertise in:
  • Palo Alto Networks firewalls (PA-5400 series or similar)
  • Palo Alto Panorama (Device Groups, Templates, policy push)
  • Cisco Firepower Threat Defense (FTD)
  • Cisco Firepower Management Center (FMC)
• Proven ability to troubleshoot live production issues
• Experience with ServiceNow or similar ticketing systems
• Strong knowledge of:
  • NAT, Security Policies, Zones
  • Routing (BGP / Static)
  • VPNs (IPSec preferred)
• Ability to analyze logs quickly and work under pressure

Nice to Have:

• Experience migrating firewalls into Panorama-managed environments
• Exposure to large-scale environments (multiple firewalls / device groups)
• Experience with upgrades, commits, and policy pushes
• Familiarity with cloud networking (Azure / AWS)
