About The Company

Blue Orange Digital is a premier data and AI consulting firm dedicated to transforming complex data into meaningful business outcomes. We collaborate with organizations across various industries to design and implement scalable data infrastructure, advanced analytics, and AI-powered solutions. Our team operates fully remotely, embracing a globally distributed workforce driven by curiosity, innovation, and a commitment to impactful results. As a boutique consultancy, we focus on delivering enterprise-grade solutions, working with cutting-edge technologies such as Databricks, Snowflake, dbt, and the Microsoft ecosystem to convert messy, real-world data into trustworthy, actionable insights. Our client base spans private equity, financial services, healthcare, and retail sectors, where we pride ourselves on a builder-led, client-first culture that values ownership, clear communication, and high-impact delivery.

About The Role

We are seeking an experienced HR Generalist to join Blue Orange Digital on a part-time basis, taking ownership of our human resources functions. This is a strategic, non-administrative role that requires a proactive and autonomous professional capable of managing the full spectrum of HR activities. You will work directly with the CEO and leadership team to ensure the HR function operates smoothly, effectively supporting our remote, multi-state workforce. Your responsibilities will include full-cycle recruiting, HR compliance, HRIS management, employee relations, and executive HR reporting. This role is ideal for someone with 3--5 years of hands-on HR experience who has previously operated as a solo or small-team HR practitioner, seeking meaningful part-time work with genuine ownership and impact. If you are passionate about HR craft, thrive in flexible environments, and want to contribute to a dynamic, innovative organization, this position offers an excellent opportunity.

Qualifications

  • 3--5 years of experience as an HR Generalist or HR Coordinator
  • Proven experience managing full-cycle recruiting independently
  • Working knowledge of employment law fundamentals including FLSA, ADA, FMLA, I‑9, and multi-state compliance
  • Experience supporting a remote workforce in a company of 20--150 employees
  • Proficiency with ATS platforms, preferably TeamTailor, and HRIS systems like HiBob
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Legal authorization to work in the US without sponsorship

Responsibilities

  • Manage end-to-end recruiting processes: posting roles, candidate pipeline management, interview coordination, and offer management
  • Partner with hiring managers to develop structured interview guides, role scorecards, and evaluation rubrics
  • Proactively source candidates for hard-to-fill roles via LinkedIn, job boards, and referral networks
  • Track and analyze sourcing channel effectiveness, time to fill, and offer acceptance rates
  • Maintain vendor relationships with job boards and ATS providers, including billing and troubleshooting
  • Monitor and ensure compliance with federal and state employment laws affecting a multi-state remote workforce
  • Maintain I‑9 records and oversee employment eligibility verification processes
  • Ensure proper worker classification (W‑2, 1099, EOR) in collaboration with finance and legal advisors
  • Develop, update, and enforce the employee handbook and HR policies
  • Manage relationships with EOR vendors for contractor and international placements
  • Oversee HRIS platform (HiBob): employee records, onboarding/offboarding workflows, and data integrity
  • Coordinate new hire onboarding, including documentation, system access, and 30/60/90-day check-ins
  • Manage offboarding processes: exit interviews, documentation, COBRA notices, and final pay
  • Act as the first point of contact for employee questions regarding policies, benefits, and workplace concerns
  • Support managers in performance discussions and employee development initiatives
  • Identify early warning signs related to retention, engagement, and culture; escalate to leadership as needed
  • Publish and analyze HR metrics, including time to fill, retention rates, turnover, and internal mobility
  • Translate HR data into actionable insights for leadership decision-making

Benefits

  • Fully remote work environment
  • Flexible work schedule to accommodate personal needs
  • Unlimited Paid Time Off (PTO)
  • Paid parental and bereavement leave
  • Opportunity to work with worldwide recognized clients and build a strong professional portfolio
  • Collaborative and growth-oriented team environment
  • Competitive hourly rate between $25 and $35 USD
