About The Role
We are seeking a Principal Core Science Machine Learning Scientist to join our Core Science Group in New York, NY, with the flexibility of fully remote work. This strategic leadership role is designed for a visionary professional eager to influence the foundational elements of our next-generation personalization ecosystem. As a key member of the team, you will be responsible for defining and developing Personalization Foundation Models and ML Primitives that will underpin every surface across Paramount's streaming portfolio. You will operate at an organizational scale, tackling complex challenges in model architecture and systems engineering, and leading innovative projects that push the boundaries of AI and machine learning. Your work will directly impact the efficiency, scalability, and intelligence of our personalization systems, shaping the future of how content is delivered to millions of users worldwide.
Qualifications
- 10+ years of experience in machine learning research and systems engineering
- Proficiency in PyTorch and Rust programming languages
- Deep expertise in inference optimization, particularly with Triton
- Published research in Foundation Models or Agentic Systems (preferred)
- Experience building or contributing to AI Kernels
- PhD in Computer Science or a related field
Responsibilities
- Drive the long-term technical strategy for Personalization Foundation Models, establishing a 2-3 year research and implementation roadmap
- Develop shared ML primitives and foundational components used across ranking and retrieval systems within the organization
- Implement performance-critical components in Rust and optimize inference processes utilizing Triton and custom Helion kernels
- Design and develop agentic personalization components, including reasoning and orchestration logic for autonomous systems
- Lead innovation efforts in systems engineering by exploring Helion kernels and Triton optimization to enhance efficiency and cost-effectiveness
- Influence and mentor senior technical talent, shaping the roadmap for both Core Science and Applied ML teams
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate research into scalable, production-ready solutions
