POSITION OVERVIEW
Village Retail is seeking a highly skilled and results-driven E-Commerce Manager to own and lead our online retail operations. This is a full-time remote role for a hands-on professional who brings deep fluency across every dimension of modern e-commerce, from Shopify store management and vendor relations to email automation, paid advertising, and social commerce.
The ideal candidate is a proactive, self-directed operator who thrives in a fast-paced environment, holds themselves to an exceptionally high standard, and understands that every customer touchpoint is a direct reflection of our brand. Camera-ready professionalism and consistent availability during scheduled hours are required.
SCHEDULE AND COMPENSATION
- Compensation: $25.00 per hour
- Hours: Monday through Friday, 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM EST
- Lunch break: 1:00 PM to 1:45 PM daily
- Classification: Full-time, hourly, 40 hours per week
- Location: 100% remote; camera-on availability is required during all scheduled work hours
- Requirements: A minimum of three verifiable professional references and a successful background check are required prior to the start of employment.
CORE RESPONSIBILITIES
Shopify Platform Management
- Manage all day-to-day Shopify storefront operations including product uploads, inventory management, pricing updates, and order processing.
- Optimize product pages for conversion through compelling imagery, descriptions, variant structuring, and cross-selling strategies.
- Configure and maintain Shopify apps and integrations.
- Monitor site uptime, troubleshoot issues, and coordinate with developers.
- Manage checkout optimization, discount codes, gift cards, and promotional campaigns.
- Ensure mobile responsiveness, site speed, and user experience standards.
- Sync inventory and sales data between online and physical retail locations.
- Conduct regular audits to ensure product descriptions, pricing, imagery, and inventory are accurate.
Online Vendor Relationship Management
- Serve as the primary point of contact for all vendors.
- Onboard new vendors, coordinating product setup, imagery, pricing, and inventory processes.
- Communicate proactively regarding inventory levels, restocking, and sales performance.
- Plan and coordinate product launches and promotional campaigns.
- Track and analyze vendor performance metrics.
- Maintain accurate vendor records and negotiate terms for online exclusives and placements.
Social Commerce and Influencer Marketing
- Manage social commerce integrations (Instagram Shopping, Facebook Shops).
- Develop and oversee influencer and creator partnership programs.
- Create and distribute affiliate links, promo codes, and UTM parameters.
- Identify, recruit, and onboard micro-influencers.
- Track influencer and affiliate performance and ROI.
Email Marketing and Klaviyo Management
- Own and execute the full email marketing strategy using Klaviyo.
- Build, segment, and maintain email lists for targeted campaigns.
- Design and deploy weekly newsletters.
- Create and optimize automated email flows (welcome series, abandoned cart, post-purchase, etc.).
- Implement and manage SMS marketing campaigns.
- A/B test content to maximize performance and monitor deliverability.
SEO, Organic Search, and AI Visibility
- Execute a comprehensive SEO strategy to increase organic traffic.
- Conduct keyword research and optimize on-page elements (title tags, meta descriptions, header tags, alt text).
- Implement and maintain Schema.org structured data.
- Apply Generative Engine Optimization (GEO) strategies for AI-powered search visibility (Google AI Overviews, ChatGPT, etc.).
- Develop FAQ content and buying guides to support AI visibility and voice search.
Paid Advertising and Analytics
- Manage Google Analytics 4, Google Ads, and Meta advertising campaigns.
- Maintain and troubleshoot the Google Merchant Center product feed.
- Implement conversion tracking via Google Tag Manager.
- Monitor ROAS and customer acquisition costs.
- Build performance dashboards and provide reporting to leadership.
Customer Experience and Operations
- Monitor customer feedback and respond to inquiries.
- Analyze customer behavior to identify friction points.
- Coordinate with fulfillment partners and manage returns/exchanges.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- 2 to 4 years of hands-on e-commerce management experience.
- Expert-level Shopify proficiency.
- Advanced Klaviyo expertise (flows, segmentation, reporting).
- Demonstrated ability to manage Google Ads and Meta Ads.
- Solid knowledge of SEO best practices.
- Proficiency in Google Analytics 4, Excel, and Google Sheets.
- Experience managing vendor relationships.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently in a fully remote environment.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience with mission-driven or artisan brands.
- Experience with Shopify POS and omnichannel inventory.
- Photography or graphic design skills (Canva/Adobe).
- Google Ads or Klaviyo certification.
- Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business, or related field.
