Job description

We're Looking For A...

We're looking for an accounting professional who is as client-obsessed as they are detail-oriented --- someone who catches things before they become problems, takes ownership, and genuinely loves being the person clients trust most with their business finances. As our Client Experience Manager, you'll own client relationships from onboarding through ongoing monthly closes and ad hoc projects, bringing both accounting depth and a real passion for client experience to everything you do.

Does This Sound Familiar?

  • You're the person who catches the error everyone else missed --- and you catch it before it becomes anyone's problem.
  • You've always been the one people come to when something needs to get done right. Not just done --- done right.
  • You love the idea of owning a portfolio of clients and treating each one like they're your most important account.
  • You've maybe dreamed of running your own bookkeeping firm, but honestly, you don't love the marketing side of things --- you just want to do great work.
  • Systems, processes, and tech tools genuinely excite you. When you find a smarter way to do something, you can't wait to implement it.
  • You thrive working independently, but you're a team player at heart --- you know when to loop someone in and when to just handle it.
  • You're energized by the idea of working at the intersection of accounting, client experience, and operations --- and you'd love to be part of building something great.
  • The idea of AI-powered workflows doesn't intimidate you --- it excites you.

The Position

Why United Profit Partners Is Your Dream Company

  • We serve creative, marketing-focused businesses --- the kind of clients who are passionate about what they do and genuinely appreciate a team that takes their finances seriously.
  • You'll work fully remotely with a flexible schedule, we just ask that you make yourself for client calls that are scheduled in advance.
  • We're tech-forward and always looking to improve how we do things --- your ideas will be heard and implemented.
  • This role grows with you --- starting as a contractor and transitioning to a part-time employee for the right fit, with great perks along the way.

Position Type

Hourly contractor for the first 90 days, transitioning to part-time hourly employee for the right fit.

Hours Required

Approximately 10 hours per week, the right candidate must have availability to meet with clients during regular Central Time business hours.

  • Wi-Fi reimbursement
  • Paid time off (PTO)

What You'll Do

You'll serve as the primary point of contact for client accounts, owning the relationship from onboarding through ongoing monthly closes and ad hoc projects.

Onboarding

  • Conduct diagnostic reviews as part of both the sales and onboarding process, ensuring accuracy and completeness
  • Project manage the onboarding process from start to finish
  • Project manage catch-up and clean-up engagements, coordinating bookkeeper tasks and verifying the work

Monthly Closes & Ancillary Services

What We're Looking For

  • 5 years of accounting experience, ideally in a client-facing or multi-client environment

  • A genuine obsession with client experience, you take pride in how clients feel, not just what gets done
  • The accounting chops to review bookkeeper work with confidence and catch errors independently
  • Strong project management instincts, you track details, follow through, and don't let things fall through the cracks
  • An ownership mentality, your accounts are your accounts and you treat them that way
  • Clear, warm communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Self-directed and operationally sharp, you thrive in a remote environment and don't need micromanaging
  • A tech-forward mindset where you embrace tools and systems that drive accuracy and efficiency, and you're always looking for a smarter way to do things
  • Excitement about AI tools and a desire to grow into managing AI-powered workflows
  • Experience with Gusto for payroll processing
  • Responsive and reliable
  • Available to meet with clients during regular Central Time business hours

  • Advisory experience where you've helped clients interpret their numbers and make better financial decisions based on what the data shows
  • Background working with service-based businesses, particularly in creative or marketing industries

Sound Like You?

If you're a detail-obsessed accounting professional who loves client relationships, thrives in a remote environment, and gets genuinely excited about building better processes --- we want to hear from you. We're a small team doing meaningful work for incredible clients, and we take care of the people who take care of them. If you've ever dreamed of owning your own bookkeeping firm but don't love the marketing side of things --- this might just be for you.
