Summary

Our client is a rapidly growing renewable energy services company supporting utility-scale wind, solar, battery storage, and data center projects across North America. Known for their strong technical expertise, safety-first culture, and customer-focused approach, they have built a strong reputation within the renewable energy industry.

Due to continued growth, the organization is seeking an HR Manager to build, lead, and fully own the company's HR function. This is a highly visible opportunity to join a fast-growing company where leadership is looking for a proactive, hands-on HR professional who can help scale the organization, strengthen company culture, support a multi-state workforce, and build long-term HR infrastructure.

This role offers a fully remote work environment, strong compensation package, flexibility, autonomy, and the opportunity to make a significant impact within a rapidly expanding organization operating in one of the fastest-growing industries in the country.

Why Consider This Opportunity?

  • Opportunity to Build & Own the HR Function: This is not a traditional "maintain the status quo" HR role. Leadership is seeking someone who can fully take ownership of HR operations, build scalable processes, strengthen culture, and help support the company's long-term growth initiatives.
  • Highly Visible & Strategic Position: You will work closely with executive leadership and directly influence employee experience, compliance, workforce development, onboarding, training, and organizational growth strategies.
  • High-Growth Renewable Energy Industry: Join a company operating at the forefront of utility-scale solar, battery storage, wind energy, and data center infrastructure markets --- industries experiencing explosive long-term growth.
  • Employee-First Culture: The company places a strong emphasis on taking care of employees and building a positive, flexible, and supportive work environment. Leadership genuinely values culture and wants HR to play a major role in strengthening it as the company grows.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage all core HR functions across a growing multi-state workforce.
  • Develop and implement scalable HR policies, processes, and best practices aligned with company growth objectives.
  • Oversee onboarding, offboarding, background checks, I-9 documentation, employee files, handbooks, and HR compliance processes.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local labor laws across multiple states.
  • Partner closely with leadership on employee relations, performance management, organizational development, and workforce planning initiatives.
  • Support employee engagement, company culture development, career progression planning, and retention initiatives.
  • Manage performance review processes, employee coaching, and professional development programs.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for employee relations matters, conflict resolution, and HR guidance.
  • Collaborate with payroll and operations teams to support payroll-related processes and workforce administration.
  • Develop and maintain HR reporting, metrics, and organizational data to support business decisions.
  • Assist leadership with compensation planning, benefits administration, training initiatives, and workforce scalability.
  • Support recruiting coordination and workforce growth initiatives as the company continues to expand nationally.
  • Build long-term HR infrastructure capable of supporting a rapidly growing organization.
  • Identify areas for operational improvement and proactively implement solutions that improve employee experience and organizational effectiveness.

Qualifications

  • 10 years of Human Resources experience, including experience in an HR Manager or HR leadership role.
  • Renewable energy, energy infrastructure, industrial services, construction, field services, or related industry experience strongly preferred.
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field required.
  • SHRM or HRCI certification required.
  • Strong experience supporting multi-state workforces and navigating federal, state, and local employment laws.
  • Experience managing onboarding, compliance, employee relations, performance management, and organizational development initiatives.
  • Strong understanding of payroll processes and HR/payroll coordination.
  • Experience with Gusto, QuickBooks, or similar HRIS/payroll platforms preferred.
  • Proven ability to operate independently and fully own HR functions within a growing organization.
  • Experience supporting field-based or technician-heavy workforces highly preferred.
  • Strong communication, leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to build trust and credibility across all levels of the organization.
