Job description

About VOTE16KY

VOTE16KY is an entirely youth-led organization working to expand voting rights for 16- and 17-year-olds in Kentucky's Board of Education elections. We believe students should have a say in choosing the officials who make decisions about their schools, including issues like budgeting, curriculum, and district priorities.

Our team works with legislators, election officials, educators, and community members across Kentucky to give school boards the option to lower the BOE voting age to 16. We've drafted legislation, organized statewide outreach, and built partnerships with statewide officials. To learn more, visit Vote16KY.org.

Job Description

VOTE16KY is looking for a high school or college-aged student in Kentucky to help direct our social media and grow awareness of our work.

You'll help run platforms like Instagram, LinkedIn, and Substack, create posts, share updates about legislation and events, and communicate with supporters online. You'll work directly with organization leadership and have significant input on messaging and content. This is a great opportunity to both build your portfolio and gain experience in the working environment of a big player in real political advocacy.
