Overview

At Digital Harbor Foundation, this essential role focuses on championing a strategy and vision for leveraging technology to help communities unlock their full potential and flourish. The successful candidate will support a portfolio of projects deploying novel, cutting-edge technologies to help solve complex social challenges. By building a comprehensive strategy and leveraging a network of thought leaders across multiple sectors, you will help our projects achieve their ambitious goals and serve as a thought-leader in the broader sector.

Education And Experience Requirements

  • Bachelors in computer science or related field or 8+ years in executive management in an applicable field.
  • Experience designing, developing, and deploying digital products.
  • Extensive multi-sector experience is ideal.
  • Relevant certifications, such as Cyber Security (e.g. CompTIA Security+, CISSP, CISM), Information Technology (e.g., CompTIA A, Cisco CCNA), or Project Management (e.g., PMP, CAPM, Agile).

  • A strong vision for how technology can help communities unlock their full potential.
  • Passion for bridging the digital divide.
  • Analytical and pragmatic mind to balance big-picture strategy and executing details.
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects in a growing and evolving environment.
  • Clear commitment and vision for how equity and inclusion show up in organizational design.
  • Superb written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience and expertise related to application development, infrastructure optimization, mobile computing, data and analytics. In addition, experience in developing/implementing data governance and enterprise architecture is highly desired.
  • Flexible, open-minded, and collaborative mindset.
  • Ability to successfully work independently and collaborate on team-based projects.
  • Ability to act as a strategic thought partner in tandem with the CEO.
  • A strong understanding of current technology trends, particularly related to the application of technologies to address social challenges.

Reporting directly to the President & CEO, this position is a member of the Senior Leadership Team. Leaders are expected to:

Role and Responsibilities

Technology Strategy & Leadership

  • Develop and manage a strategy for leveraging cutting-edge technologies to solve complex social challenges.
  • Recruit projects and social innovators interested in using technology for social good.
  • Provide comprehensive technology support to projects to empower them to achieve ambitious goals.
  • Advise the President & CEO on technology trends and represent the Foundation externally.
  • Translate strategic thinking into detailed planning.
  • Collaborate across the organization to create impactful solutions.

Technology & Data Management

  • Champion a vision for internal technology infrastructure.
  • Directly manage the Manager of Technology Systems.
  • Design and deploy technology policies and internal systems.
  • Ensure information architecture is suited to organizational needs.
  • Advise on identifying, purchasing, and implementing new technologies.
  • Develop a comprehensive technology training program.
  • Oversee all aspects of technology and data risk, compliance, and governance.
  • Improve operational management systems in collaboration with the COO.

Additional Notes

This is a full-time, fully remote position with occasional in-person meetings at the Digital Harbor Foundation office as needed.

Compensation

$140,000 to $185,000 annually, commensurate with experience.
