About the Role:

The Marketing Communications and PR Coordinator plays a key role in helping Future Plans tell its story clearly, consistently, and strategically across audiences and platforms. This role supports the execution of marketing and communications initiatives tied to: A new website and brand presence, Stakeholder specific messaging (individuals, employers, educators, funders, policymakers), Program visibility and impact storytelling, and Growth of awareness, credibility, and engagement.

This role is remote but only candidates who reside in Ohio will be considered.

Key Responsibilities:

Content and Messaging Support

  • Draft, edit, and organize content for the website, email, and digital channels.
  • Support stakeholder specific messaging (e.g., individuals, employers, partners, funders.)
  • Help translate complex programs into clear, accessible language.
  • Maintain consistency with Future Plans' brand voice and messaging frameworks.

Website and Digital Coordination

  • Support content updates and coordination for the Future Plans website.
  • Assist with page builds, content audits, and migration during site updates.
  • Help ensure accuracy, clarity, and alignment across web pages.
  • Execute social media posts and campaigns based on the content strategy.

Campaign and Project Support

  • Coordinate timelines, assets, and deliverables for marketing initiatives.
  • Support campaigns tied to assessments, workforce programs, partnerships, and events.
  • Help organize marketing calendars and track progress across projects.

Storytelling and Impact

  • Support collection and organization of stories, quotes, and outcomes.
  • Assist in highlighting individual journeys, employer partnerships, and community impact.
  • Help turn data and outcomes into clear, compelling narratives.

Internal and External Coordination

  • Work closely with program, partnerships, and leadership teams.

  • Occasional travel to cover events, as needed, if local.

  • Support coordination with designers, vendors, and external partners.

  • Assist with presentations, decks, and internal communications as needed.

  • Marketing and Communications administration duties to support senior management.

  • Other Duties As Assigned

Qualifications & Skills:

Qualifications

Required

  • 3 years of experience in marketing or communications.
  • Strong writing, editing, and organizational skills.
  • Comfort managing multiple projects and deadlines.
  • Attention to detail and ability to follow brand guidelines.
  • Interest in workforce development, education, or social impact.

Preferred

  • Graphic design experience preferred.
  • Experience supporting website or digital content.
  • Familiarity with content management systems (or willingness to learn).
  • Experience working in nonprofit, education, or mission driven environments.
  • Comfort collaborating across teams.

Skills

  • Maintain a positive workplace attitude and demeanor.
  • Possess a high level of attention to detail.
  • Demonstrate a collaborative approach with colleagues to meet organizational goals.
