Engineering Manager, Care Platform
Job summary
Work model
Lead with purpose. Build what matters. Are you a mission-driven engineering leader who thrives on building teams and solving complex problems at scale? At Included Health, we're transforming healthcare through technology, and we're looking for Engineering Managers to guide our teams and shape the future of virtual care.
Reporting to the Director of Engineering, Care Platform, you'll help advance our engineering strategy, mentor a high-performing team, and partner cross-functionally to deliver solutions that directly improve the lives of millions. This is a collaborative, visionary role for leaders who want to improve outcomes, not just output.
What You'll Do
- Grow one or more engineering teams focused on critical areas of our virtual care platform.
- Collaborate with Product, Design, and Data teams to define long-term vision and roadmap.
- Guide technical strategy and architecture decisions that ensure scalability, performance, and progress.
- Hire and develop engineering talent while promoting an inclusive and accountable team culture.
- Partner across the organization to influence product direction, resourcing, and prioritization.
- Improve engineering processes, quality, and reliability.
What We're Looking For
- Proven engineering leadership at scale: 7+ years of experience in software engineering, including 5+ years in people leadership. You've led multiple teams or company-level initiatives.
- Strategic and systems-level thinker: You're comfortable zooming out to align technical strategy with product and business goals. You identify gaps, shape long-term plans, and lead cross-team architecture decisions.
- Experience driving product impact: You've led teams through ambiguous problem spaces and delivered high-quality, user-facing products that move metrics.
- Team builder and culture shaper: You've hired, developed, and retained strong talent. You foster a culture of psychological safety, accountability, and continuous improvement.
- Technical depth: You can engage on architecture and implementation decisions, while also considering trade-offs across cost, velocity, and value delivery.
Physical/Cognitive Requirements
- Prompt and regular attendance at assigned work location.
- Ability to remain seated in a stationary position for prolonged periods.
- Requires eye-hand coordination and manual dexterity sufficient to operate keyboard, computer and other office-related equipment.
- No heavy lifting is expected, though occasional exertion of about 20 lbs. of force (e.g., lifting a computer / laptop) may be required.
- Ability to interact with leadership, employees, and members in an appropriate manner.
