This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Recruiter - Nonprofit & Community Organizations based in United States.

This role focuses on connecting mission-driven organizations with exceptional talent across the nonprofit and community sector. You will partner closely with executive leaders, board members, and senior stakeholders to understand hiring needs and deliver high-impact recruitment solutions. The work is highly relational and advisory in nature, requiring strong judgment, empathy, and a deep understanding of values-based hiring. You will manage full-cycle recruiting across a variety of roles, from executive leadership to program, development, and operations positions. Operating in a fully remote and flexible environment, you will play a key role in strengthening organizations that serve communities across North America. This is an opportunity to combine strategic recruiting expertise with meaningful, purpose-driven impact.

Accountabilities

  • Lead full-cycle recruitment processes for nonprofit and community-based organizations, from sourcing to offer stage
  • Partner with executive directors, CEOs, and boards to define hiring needs and advise on talent strategy
  • Source and engage candidates through nonprofit networks, referrals, and relationship-based outreach
  • Build and maintain strong long-term pipelines of mission-aligned candidates
  • Recruit across leadership, development, finance, HR, operations, education, and community engagement roles
  • Contribute to business development efforts by identifying and supporting new client opportunities
  • Represent a values-driven, high-touch recruiting approach in all client and candidate interactions

Requirements

  • 5+ years of recruiting experience, ideally within nonprofit, community-based, or mission-driven organizations
  • Strong understanding of nonprofit structures, board governance, and stakeholder dynamics
  • Proven ability to build trusted, long-term relationships with clients and candidates
  • Excellent communication skills with high emotional intelligence and consultative approach
  • Ability to manage multiple searches independently in a remote, fast-paced environment
  • Entrepreneurial mindset with comfort in a commission-based structure
  • Existing nonprofit or community networks, especially in the Northeast, are a strong plus
