We've built a multi-location platform in Los Angeles and are now scaling into markets across the Western U.S. with a goal to be the leading provider of dentistry and orthodontics to kids and families on Medicaid. Every new location means thousands more kids receiving consistent, high-quality care. We are a multi-site consumer healthcare startup capitalized for growth and building a team to scale.
The Role: Director of Real Estate & Construction
This is an opportunity to own the real estate function for 30K+ sq ft of new locations per year, including site selection, lease negotiations, TI buildouts, permitting, and GC management. You'll report directly to the CEO, with fast decision-making and no bureaucracy.

What You'll Own:
- Site selection and market analysis across key Western U.S. markets.
- Lease negotiations (leading broker and lawyer relationships).
- Managing Tenant Improvement (TI) buildouts (5,000 to 20,000 sq ft) from contract to certificate of occupancy.
- TI bidding and General Contractor (GC) management across multiple concurrent projects.
- Permitting and municipal approvals.
- Budget ownership for every project.
- Key aesthetic decisions.
- Holding contractors accountable for scope, budget, and deadlines.
What We're Looking For:
- 5+ years in commercial real estate, development, or construction management.
- Hands-on experience managing tenant improvements or ground-up retail/consumer builds.
- Comfort navigating permitting processes.
- An eye for great design.
- Detail orientation that borders on obsessive.
- An ownership mentality.
- Someone who is great to work with but won't let a GC slide on a deadline.
Bonus Points:
- Medical or dental real estate experience.
- Leasing experience (tenant or landlord side).
- Vertical development, land use, and entitlement experience.
- Experience scaling a multi-unit consumer brand.
- Spanish fluency.
Compensation:
Target annual compensation of $125K-$150K, plus meaningful upside tied to individual and company performance.
Location:
Preference for Phoenix, as it's the next market for expansion. However, we are open to candidates in the Western U.S. who are ready to travel regularly.
